U.S. Rep. Jeff Miller (R-Chumuckla) and his wife, Vicki, are probably not the first people you expect to read about in this column. But this week, our congressman and his wife have made their way onto the food beat.
The Millers won an award for best presentation at last week's March of Dimes 2010 Gourmet Gala. This annual Washington, D.C., culinary soiree features more than 30 members of the U.S. Congress showing off their favorite recipes in a contest judged by professional chefs.
Rep. Miller and his wife presented shrimp dukkah from a recipe by Chef Jim Shirley of The Fish House, a contributor to the PNJ's Chef's Corner column. You can find the winning recipe on page 3B of today's Food & Wine section. ARTICLE HERE
Congratulations to the Millers on the award. Whatever your political persuasion, surely everyone in the area can be proud of the way Miller represented the Pensacola area at this event.
